Still using it every workday

I've carried my laptop in this sleeve almost every weekday for over a year. Most of the time it goes inside my larger work bag, but I also carry it on its own when I'm only going between meetings. The padding gives me enough protection without making the sleeve bulky. The leather has picked up some marks and softened considerably, especially around the corners, and I think it looks better now than when it was new.

Wrist strap is surprisingly useful

I thought I'd remove the strap, but I actually use it quite often when carrying the sleeve between the office and my car.

Snug at first

The fit was fairly snug when it first arrived and I wondered if I'd chosen the wrong option. After some regular use the leather relaxed slightly and now the fit is exactly how I wanted it. Secure without being difficult to get the laptop in and out.

Fits easily inside my work bag

This was the main reason I chose the Ashton instead of a larger laptop case. It's only about 2 cm deep, so I can protect the computer without taking up a huge amount of room inside my backpack. When I get to the office I can take the sleeve out and carry it separately if needed.

Good padding without the bulk

The inside has enough cushioning that I'm comfortable putting my laptop in my backpack with other things around it.

Ages much better than my previous sleeve

My old synthetic laptop sleeve started looking tired after less than a year. I've had the Ashton considerably longer and the opposite has happened. The leather has become softer and developed some darker areas and small surface marks from everyday use. It feels much more personal now. The zipper still works smoothly and the stitching around the edges has remained secure despite being used almost daily.

No unnecessary bulk or complicated compartments. Just a good leather sleeve that does what I need it to do.

Perfect for meetings

When I don't need my entire backpack, I put my laptop and a couple of papers in this and carry it into the meeting. Looks much more professional than carrying the computer by itself.

Minimal storage by design

This is definitely a sleeve rather than a laptop briefcase, so don't expect space for a charger, mouse and a bunch of accessories. I wanted something slim specifically to protect the laptop inside another bag, and for that it's excellent.

One of my most-used leather pieces

I didn't expect to use this as much as I do. It started as something to protect my laptop inside my travel bag, but now I also carry it around the office and take it to meetings on its own. The wrist strap makes that surprisingly convenient. After sixteen months the leather has softened and developed a very natural patina, while the padded interior still feels protective.

Chocolate has developed nicely

I've had mine for about a year and the dark brown leather isn't completely uniform anymore. The corners and areas around the zipper have developed some lighter variation while the areas I handle frequently have become smoother. That's exactly what I wanted from a full-grain leather sleeve. It feels like something that will keep getting better with use.

Doesn't take over my backpack

Some padded laptop cases are almost as bulky as a small bag. This stays slim enough that I barely notice the extra thickness.

Almost two years of regular use

This sleeve travels back and forth to work with me several times every week and has also been on plenty of flights. Most of the time it's sitting inside another bag, so it gets rubbed against chargers, notebooks and whatever else I'm carrying. The leather shows plenty of character now, but the construction has held up extremely well. The zipper remains smooth, the wrist strap is still secure and the padded interior hasn't flattened excessively.

Easy to carry by itself

I often leave my main bag at my desk and just take this with me around the building. The wrist strap makes that much more secure.

Check your laptop size carefully

There are quite a few size options, so I spent some time double-checking my laptop model before ordering. I'm glad I did because the fit is quite tailored rather than loose. Once I had the correct option, it fit very nicely.

Much nicer than a standard laptop sleeve

Functionally I just needed something padded to stop my laptop getting scratched inside my backpack, but I wanted something that didn't look like generic tech gear. This has been exactly right. It's slim, the zipper gives me more confidence than an open sleeve, and the leather looks appropriate when I carry it separately. More than a year later it has developed enough patina to look properly broken in.

Perfect companion for my travel backpack

I travel with a larger backpack that doesn't have much padding around the laptop section, so the Ashton gives me the extra protection I wanted without taking up much additional room. Once I reach my destination, I can leave the backpack at the hotel and carry the laptop in this sleeve. It's been through a lot of airports over the last year and a half and still looks excellent.

Slim but not flimsy

That's the thing I like most. It doesn't add much bulk, but the leather and padding still make it feel protective rather than just decorative.

Wrist strap is removable

I wasn't sure I'd like having the strap hanging from the side, so being able to remove it was useful. I actually ended up putting it back on after a few weeks because it's convenient when carrying the sleeve on its own.

Daily protection without unnecessary bulk

My laptop goes everywhere with me for work, but I didn't want a large dedicated computer bag. This is a much better solution for my routine. I slide the laptop into the padded sleeve and then put the whole thing into whichever backpack I'm using that day. The 2 cm profile keeps it compact, and I can still carry it separately when needed.

I prefer this to open-top sleeves because I know the laptop isn't going to slide out when I'm moving things around.

The patina is my favorite part now

When I first bought it, the leather looked almost too clean for my taste. Nearly two years later it has exactly the appearance I wanted. There are small scratches, variations in tone and softer areas where I handle it regularly. I condition it occasionally but otherwise haven't babied it. Despite all the use, the stitching and zipper remain in excellent condition and the padding still protects the computer well.

Simple product done properly
