I've carried the Beckett to work almost every weekday for well over a year now. The size is ideal for my routine because I don't carry a huge amount: laptop, notebook, charger, wallet and a few smaller items. Everything has a sensible place and the structured shape means it still looks neat even when it isn't completely full. The leather has softened slightly and developed some subtle marks, but the briefcase has kept its shape very well.

Organization is simple and useful

The interior pockets are enough for my phone, cables and other small things without turning the inside into a maze of compartments.

Definitely a slim briefcase

The 9 cm depth works perfectly for my laptop and normal office essentials, but this isn't something I'd choose if I needed to carry bulky equipment or a change of clothes. I wanted a slim work bag specifically, so the proportions suit me very well.

Professional without looking old fashioned

I wanted a proper leather briefcase but didn't want something covered in buckles or traditional detailing. The Beckett is much cleaner. The simple flap, structured shape and dark leather work with a suit but don't look overly formal when I'm dressed more casually. I've ended up using it far more often than my previous briefcase.

I like having a dedicated padded section rather than putting my computer in a separate sleeve inside the bag. Keeps the rest of the space available.

Nearly two years and still looking sharp

This has been my primary office bag for close to two years. It has spent countless days commuting with me and has been taken on quite a few business trips as well. The leather has developed some small marks and variations from being handled every day, which I think makes it look better. What has impressed me most is how well the structured profile has held up. It hasn't turned floppy or lost the clean shape that made me choose it in the first place.

I normally use the top handle, but having the adjustable strap is useful when I'm walking farther or carrying something else.

Right amount of space

I deliberately wanted something that wouldn't encourage me to carry half my office around. My laptop, notebook, charger and a few smaller essentials fit comfortably.

Leather needed some breaking in

Mine felt quite structured when it first arrived, especially around the opening. It wasn't a problem, but it took a few weeks before everything started feeling more natural. Eight months later the leather has softened nicely while the bag itself still holds its shape.

Ideal for client meetings

My backpack is more comfortable when I'm carrying a lot, but for meetings I prefer something cleaner and more professional. This has become my default. It holds my laptop and the documents I actually need without looking bulky, and I can carry it by the handle when I'm walking into a meeting or use the shoulder strap on the way there.

Phone and smaller accessories stay separate instead of floating around at the bottom. Simple setup but it works.

The leather is developing nicely

Mine has been used regularly for a year and a half and the leather no longer has that perfectly uniform new appearance. The areas around the handle and corners have developed more character, and there are a few small marks from commuting. I prefer it this way. The bag still looks professional, but now it feels like something I've actually owned and used rather than something straight from the box.

Everything I need for a normal workday

I've used this for about a year now and the size has turned out to be just right. The padded section takes care of my laptop, my notebook and charger fit alongside it, and the smaller pockets handle my phone and cables. Because the bag is only 9 cm deep, it stays relatively slim even when I've packed everything I normally carry.

Wouldn't use it as an overnight bag

It's very much a dedicated work briefcase rather than something designed to swallow lots of extras. That's obvious from the slim profile, but worth mentioning. For a laptop, documents and everyday office items, it's excellent.

The main zipper feels smooth and I like knowing everything is properly enclosed when I'm commuting.

Has handled daily commuting very well

I've had this for almost two years and it has been carried on trains and into the office hundreds of times. I'm not especially careful with it either. It gets put on the floor beside my desk and occasionally squeezed between other bags when I'm traveling. The leather has accumulated some character but the briefcase has retained its structure remarkably well. The handle, strap attachments and zipper all still feel secure.

Finally retired my old briefcase

My previous briefcase was much bulkier and I kept filling it with things I didn't actually need. The Beckett forced me to simplify a little, which has turned out to be a good thing. I carry my laptop, charger, notebook and essential accessories and that's about it. The cleaner profile is much easier to manage on public transport and looks better in the office.

For short distances I use the top handle, then clip on the shoulder strap when I have a longer walk. Nice to have both options.

Better with age

The smooth leather was one of the things that attracted me to this briefcase, and I was curious how it would look after being used regularly. Seventeen months later it has developed subtle creases and variations without losing the clean overall appearance. The structured shape has also remained surprisingly consistent. It still looks appropriate for formal meetings despite being my everyday work bag.

Best for a 14 inch setup

The dedicated laptop section is intended around a 14 inch device, so I'd definitely check your computer dimensions rather than assuming a larger machine will fit. My work laptop fits very nicely and stays secure.

My go-to bag for business travel

I usually travel with a suitcase and use this as my personal work bag. The slim dimensions make it easy to manage at airports and it holds the things I actually want accessible during the journey: laptop, documents, phone and charger. Once I arrive, it looks professional enough to take directly into meetings. After plenty of trips, the leather and hardware are holding up very well.

Exactly the kind of briefcase I wanted
