Excellent everyday work bag

Plenty of room for my laptop, charger, notebook and the other things I normally bring to the office. It still looks neat when full.

Has become my main office bag

I've been using the Franko four or five days a week for around a year and a half. The 10.5 cm depth gives it considerably more useful space than the slim briefcase I had before, but it still looks tidy rather than oversized. I normally carry my laptop, charger, notebook, headphones and a few smaller items. The leather has softened and developed some lighter marks around the corners, while the handles and shoulder strap attachments have remained completely secure.

Good amount of space

The wider base makes a difference. I can carry my normal work setup without having to arrange everything perfectly just to close the zip.

A little heavier when loaded

The bag itself feels substantial, and once I add my laptop and everything else it can get fairly heavy. The shoulder strap makes a big difference on longer walks. I usually carry it by the handles around the office and switch to the strap for the commute.

Much more practical than my old briefcase

I switched from a very slim briefcase because I needed a little more capacity without moving to a backpack. This has been a great middle ground. There's enough depth for my laptop accessories and other daily items, and the horizontal opening makes everything easy to reach. After a year, the chocolate leather is starting to develop some really nice variation as well.

I like having the option. Handles for shorter distances, shoulder strap when I'm walking to the station.

The leather has aged beautifully

Mine is approaching two years old and has been used constantly for work. The chocolate leather is much less uniform now, with darker areas around the handles, lighter marks along the edges and small scratches across the panels. I actually prefer it this way because it looks like a bag that's been properly used. The important part is that the construction hasn't deteriorated. The main zipper still runs smoothly, the handles remain firmly attached and the shoulder strap hardware hasn't loosened.

Great office size

Not enormous, but noticeably more accommodating than a slim laptop bag. It handles my everyday setup easily.

Main zip is convenient

I prefer having the whole top secured rather than an open tote. The zipper is easy to use and gives me some peace of mind on the train.

Good capacity without going oversized

I was worried it might look too large because of the 41 cm width, but the proportions are actually quite balanced. It gives me enough room for work essentials and some extras without looking like an overnight bag. The only thing I'd note is that it's easy to overpack because there is more space than a typical slim briefcase.

Works well for client visits

I needed something that could carry a proper day's worth of work gear but still look polished when I walked into a client meeting. The Franko has worked very well for that. I use the shoulder strap while commuting, remove it when I arrive and carry the bag by the handles. The design is simple enough that it doesn't look overly casual, and after fifteen months the leather has developed a nice worn-in character without losing its structure.

The horizontal shape makes it much easier to see what's inside compared with the deeper messenger bag I used before.

Cognac gets better with use

The cognac leather has changed quite a lot since I bought it. The handles are darker now, there are subtle creases across the body and the corners have picked up a few marks from commuting. I condition it every few months but otherwise don't do much to it. Nineteen months in, the bag feels softer but remains structured, and none of the stitching around the handles or strap attachments has shown any weakness.

The 10.5 cm depth gives me enough space for a charger and headphones without making the bag look bulky.

Enough space for an actual workday

A lot of leather laptop bags look great but barely have enough room once the computer goes inside. This one is different. I can carry my laptop, charging setup, notebook, glasses case and a few other things without fighting the zipper. I've used it for more than a year now and the extra capacity is probably the feature I appreciate most.

Strap needed some adjusting

It took a couple of tries to find the right strap length, especially when the bag was fully loaded. Once adjusted properly it became much more comfortable. I like being able to detach it completely when I don't need it.

Handles are sturdy

They feel properly reinforced and comfortable enough for carrying it around the office.

Still my daily bag after two years

This has been my main work bag for about two years and it has seen plenty of use. I commute by train and travel occasionally for work, so it has spent a lot of time on floors, luggage racks and under airplane seats. The leather shows plenty of wear now, but it has aged rather than deteriorated. The zipper still works smoothly, the shoulder strap hardware remains solid and both handles feel as secure as ever. I haven't found any reason to replace it.

Very good for business travel

I've used this alongside a carry-on for several work trips. It has enough room for the laptop and the other things I want accessible during the journey, while clothes and bulkier items stay in my suitcase. The detachable strap is especially useful when moving through airports. Once I arrive, I remove the strap and the bag looks perfectly appropriate for meetings.

Handles regular use extremely well

Mine gets used rather than babied. It goes on the train floor, under my desk and into overhead compartments when I'm traveling. After eighteen months there are scratches, creases and some darker areas on the leather, but that's about it. Nothing structural has failed. The handles are secure, the stitching looks good and the main zipper still runs properly. The leather has also become noticeably softer without the tote losing its overall shape.

Easy to overfill

There is a decent amount of space inside, which is both good and bad. I initially packed far too much and made the bag heavier than necessary. With my normal work essentials it's much more comfortable and keeps a cleaner shape.

Two good carry options

I use the handles indoors and attach the shoulder strap whenever I have a longer walk. Nice to have both.

A good step up from my old laptop bag

I carried a basic fabric laptop case for years because it was practical, but eventually wanted something that looked better without sacrificing too much utility. The Franko has been a great replacement. There's genuinely useful space inside, the zipper keeps everything secure and the shoulder strap makes commuting easy. Sixteen months later it looks more broken in but still completely appropriate for the office.

The tote still holds its shape well and the metal hardware and stitching have given me no problems.
