I wanted something less modern-looking than the usual nylon camera backpacks. This has been a good change. The multiple exterior pockets give me quick access to batteries, cards, filters, and a small notebook, while the main area handles the larger gear. After months of use the canvas has picked up some character without looking worn out.

Good everyday camera backpack

I've taken the Jerick on several weekend trips now. I usually carry a camera body, a couple of lenses, charger, spare batteries, and personal items. The pocket arrangement makes it easy to separate the small accessories, and the tall shape is convenient when I need to carry a bit more. The canvas has also handled regular travel better than I expected.

Canvas was stiff initially

The bag felt fairly firm when it arrived, especially around the flap areas. It has relaxed with regular use and now feels much more natural to carry.

Works well for travel photography

I bought this primarily for short trips where I wanted one backpack for camera equipment and everyday essentials. It has worked surprisingly well for that. The smaller pockets keep cables and batteries accessible, and I can organize the main section around the gear I am bringing that day. The materials have some weight to them, and you notice it once the bag is packed with lenses. For shorter outings it is excellent, and the sturdy construction is a fair tradeoff for me.

A backpack I actually enjoy carrying

I've owned several dedicated camera backpacks and most of them were functional but unattractive. The Jerick feels different. It has the organization I need for photography, yet it looks like a classic field backpack. I particularly like having several front pockets for accessories I reach for frequently. It has become my default bag for casual shoots and short day trips.

There is a lot of divided storage, which is generally useful, but I would personally trade one small section for a plain open pocket. Still a very functional setup.

The biggest advantage for me is how naturally the storage is divided.
