Looks sharp

Nice after breaking in

The leather felt a little stiff when it arrived, especially compared with the softer bags I'm used to. After several weeks of carrying it the leather has started to relax and I like it much more now. Otherwise the size and construction have been excellent.

Daily carry

This has replaced my old canvas pack for the commute. The padded straps are comfortable and it doesn't have that bulky outdoor-backpack appearance.

Good office size

My 15-inch laptop goes in along with a notebook, charger and the other things I carry during the day. It holds what I need without looking oversized.

Worth the upgrade

For years I used whatever backpack happened to be around the house. Finally decided to get something that looked a little more grown up for work. This was a good choice. The shape is clean, the zippers are easy to use and it feels substantial without being awkward to carry.

Comfortable straps

I walk a decent distance between the train and my office and the padded shoulder straps make a noticeable difference. Comfortable even when I have the bag loaded for the day.

I actually like that the design isn't covered in unnecessary pockets and buckles. Main compartment for the larger things and a front pocket for what I need quickly. Easy.

Looks better in person

The photos sold me on it but I think the backpack looks better once you actually have it in hand. Nice shape and the leather has natural variation that gives it some character.

Good bag overall

Very happy with the construction and appearance. It's a little heavier than the fabric backpack I replaced, which I probably should have expected with leather. Once it's on my shoulders the padded straps help quite a bit.

Professional without being formal

This hits a nice middle ground for me. I don't always want to carry a briefcase, but a sporty backpack looks out of place with office clothes. The Laurent has been easy to carry and still looks professional.

My everyday bag

I use this Monday through Friday and usually leave everything in it over the weekend so I'm ready to go again. Laptop, paperwork, glasses case, charger and a few smaller items all fit comfortably. The front zipper pocket is where I keep the things I don't want buried in the main compartment.

Stitching is neat and the hardware has a solid feel to it. Nothing flimsy about this backpack.

Good for the commute

Been taking this into downtown Chicago a few days a week. I like having both hands free on the train, and it looks considerably nicer than the backpack I used before.

Almost perfect

The bag itself is excellent and has enough room for my normal workday. I wouldn't have minded one additional small pocket for little odds and ends, but that's personal preference. The front pocket does handle the things I reach for most.

A proper adult backpack

I'm in my fifties and wanted the convenience of a backpack without looking like I was headed back to school. This is exactly what I had in mind. Understated design, good leather and enough room for a normal workday.

Gets better with use

Mine has softened up nicely over the past several months. There are a few natural marks now and I think they make the bag look better rather than worse. It feels like something that's meant to age instead of stay perfectly new.

From briefcase to backpack

I carried a traditional briefcase for most of my career and eventually got tired of having one hand occupied during my commute. I was hesitant to switch to a backpack because most looked too casual. This one solved that problem for me. It carries the work essentials I need and the leather keeps it looking appropriate for the office.

Practical layout

The organization is straightforward, which is what I prefer. I don't need a dozen compartments. My larger items stay in the main section and the front pocket takes care of the smaller things.

Still looks great

Aging very well

I've owned mine long enough now to see how the leather changes. It has softened, darkened a little in places and developed the kind of worn-in look I was hoping for. More importantly, it's still a dependable work bag. The main zipper, straps and stitching have all held up through regular use.
