Ideal for weekend trips

I've used this for a few two-night trips and the capacity has been just right. It fits my clothes, toiletries and a spare pair of shoes without becoming awkward to carry.

I've had the Montgomery for more than a year now and it has become the first bag I reach for when I'm away for a couple of nights. There is enough room for everything I normally pack, and the dedicated shoe compartment is much more useful than I expected. The leather has softened and picked up a few marks, but that has only made it look better to me.

I already owned a basic duffel, but wanted something that kept my shoes away from clean clothes. The dedicated compartment makes packing much more organized.

A much better alternative to a roller

For short trips I was tired of pulling a small suitcase through stations and hotel lobbies. This gives me enough capacity while being far easier to carry. The shoulder strap is comfortable, the handles feel secure and the overall shape stays tidy even when I pack it fairly full. It has made two- and three-day trips noticeably simpler.

The leather has natural variation rather than looking perfectly uniform, which is exactly what I wanted. It should look even better once it has been used for a while.

Holding up very well

This bag has been on flights, road trips and weekends away, and I have not been particularly gentle with it. The base has picked up some normal wear and the leather has developed more variation, but the stitching, zippers and hardware are all still solid. I wanted something that would age rather than simply look worn out, and so far that is exactly what is happening.

One of my favorite travel purchases

I bought this because I wanted to simplify short trips and stop bringing a suitcase every time. It has done exactly that.
