My everyday office bag

I've carried the Rudolf several days a week for about a year and a half. I originally bought it because I wanted something considerably slimmer than my old briefcase, and that has turned out to be its biggest advantage. It carries what I actually need without encouraging me to overpack. The chocolate leather has developed some lighter marks and natural creasing, but the bag still holds its structured shape. The handles and main zipper have also remained completely solid.

Compact by design

Definitely check the measurements before ordering because this really is a slim briefcase. It works beautifully for my daily essentials, but I wouldn't choose it if I needed to carry bulky accessories or stacks of paperwork. Made my commute easier

I used to carry a much larger bag and filled it with things I rarely needed. The Rudolf has enough room for my actual work essentials while remaining compact on the train. After a year of regular commuting, the leather has softened nicely and the bag still looks professional enough for meetings.

Leather looks better with age

Mine is approaching two years old now and the chocolate leather has changed quite a bit since it arrived. The areas around the handles have darkened slightly, there are small scratches across the surface and the edges have developed some lighter wear. It doesn't look damaged at all, just properly broken in. Structurally, very little has changed. The bag still keeps its shape, the zipper runs smoothly and both handles remain firmly attached despite almost daily use.

Best if you travel light

This isn't a large briefcase disguised as a slim one. The 5 cm depth means you need to be realistic about what you carry. I use it for my computer, a thin notebook, cables and a few essentials and it works perfectly. If I add bulky headphones or a large charger, things get tight.

A good fit for client-facing work

I wanted to replace my backpack with something that looked more appropriate when visiting clients, but most briefcases felt too large for what I actually carry. Cognac develops great character

I chose cognac specifically because I wanted a finish that would visibly change with use. Nineteen months later, it has developed darker areas around the handles and plenty of small marks across the front. I use leather conditioner occasionally but otherwise don't baby it. The patina has made the bag much more interesting without making it look worn out. The stitching, zipper and handles have all held up very well too.

Know what you're buying

This is genuinely compact at 34 by 26 cm, so I'd measure the items you intend to carry rather than assuming they'll fit. For my lighter daily setup the size is excellent and makes the bag far more convenient than a traditional large briefcase.
