Perfect for the office

I wanted a backpack that didn't look like something I'd take to the gym. The Wycliffe has a much cleaner, more professional look and the black leather works well with what I normally wear to the office.

Beautiful leather

Really impressed with the leather and overall construction. Feels like a bag I'll be carrying for a long time.

Simple organization

What I like most is that they didn't go overboard with compartments. There's a main section for the bulk of my things, plus the interior and exterior pockets for the smaller stuff I don't want floating around. Easy to remember where everything is.

Very well made

The stitching looks clean, the hardware feels substantial and the whole backpack has a solid feel to it.

Took a little breaking in

The leather was firmer than I expected when I first took it out of the box. After carrying it regularly it has started to soften and feel more natural. I actually prefer the way it looks now compared with the first week.

Good everyday size

At about 15 inches tall it doesn't feel like an oversized travel backpack. I mainly wanted something for daily essentials and this size has worked very well for that.

Still looks better with age

I've had mine for over a year now and it has become one of those things that looks better after being used. There are some natural marks and variations in the leather now, but they add character rather than making the bag look worn out. The construction has held up very well too.

Great looking backpack

I hope the picture does the quality justice. Really impressed with the quality and I’ve had loads of compliments on it already. I picked up a card holder too and that's just as nice.

Finally retired my old bag

My previous backpack had been with me for years but it was a basic fabric one and always looked out of place when I had meetings. I wanted to keep the convenience of carrying a backpack rather than switching to a briefcase. The Wycliffe has been a good solution because it feels practical but looks much more appropriate for work.

Chestnut looks great

Went with the chestnut finish and I'm glad I did. It has a lot of natural variation and doesn't have that overly perfect look you get with cheaper leather.

Useful without being bulky

Good proportions for a daily backpack. Enough room for what I normally bring with me without feeling like I'm carrying luggage.

Holding up extremely well

This gets used several days a week and I don't baby it. It goes from the house to the car, gets carried into work and gets set down wherever there's room. After more than a year everything still feels secure and the leather has developed a great worn-in appearance.

Good bag with one adjustment

It took me a few days to get the shoulder straps adjusted exactly where I wanted them. Once I did, the bag sat much better and has been comfortable for my normal commute. Very pleased with the quality overall.

The pockets make sense

I appreciate having both interior and exterior storage instead of one large open compartment. I can separate the small things I need during the day and leave the main compartment for everything else.

Looks right for my age

I'm 61 and didn't want another sporty backpack covered in logos and zippers. This has a straightforward design and the flap front gives it a more traditional look. It's exactly the sort of bag I was hoping to find.

A year later

Mine has been in regular rotation for about a year. The leather has softened and picked up some character while the bag itself has stayed solid. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

Nice balance

Not too big and not too small for what I carry day to day. The 13 cm depth gives it useful space without making the bag stick out too far when it's on my back.

Exactly why I buy leather

When it arrived the leather was quite clean and uniform, but after a year and a half of use it has developed its own personality. The creases and subtle changes in the surface are what make it interesting. It feels like my backpack now rather than something that just came off a shelf.

The top handle is more useful than I expected. I use the shoulder straps when walking but usually grab it by the handle getting in and out of the car.

Smaller than my old pack

The black is very sharp

I chose black because I wanted something understated for work. It looks sharp without drawing too much attention and goes with pretty much everything I wear.

A sensible layout

There are enough pockets to keep things separated without turning the bag into a filing cabinet. The exterior pocket gets used constantly and I like having the zip and slot pockets inside for smaller items.

Built for regular use

Coming up on two years with mine and it has proven to be a very dependable backpack. From briefcase to backpack

I carried a traditional briefcase for most of my career and finally decided convenience mattered more. I wasn't interested in showing up with a modern athletic-looking pack though. The Wycliffe was a good compromise. The flap and leather give it a classic appearance, but I get the comfort of carrying everything on my shoulders.

The 30 by 39 cm footprint works nicely for me. It has enough presence to feel substantial but doesn't overwhelm you when you're carrying it.

Leather needs time

Daily use for a year
